This course provides a practical and comprehensive foundation for everyday math skills. It covers relevant topics for daily survival including: getting a job, wages, tips, paycheck taxes, FICA, deductions; cost of buying and maintaining a vehicle; saving and checking accounts with simple and compound interest calculations; credit cards and how interest is calculated; cost of raising a family; renting an apartment or buying a home and getting a mortgage; planning a monthly budget; all types of insurances and filling out income tax forms. It also reviews essential number and algebraic concepts including: fractions, decimals, percents, order of operations, solving equations, graphing, linear graphing, and exponential graphing.
