This class will allow students to explore the world of creating digital music and use it in different projects (Music for documentaries, commercial music, creation of special effects, music for video games, and creation of electronic music and manipulation of sound). During this project base learning experience students will also learn and apply musical concepts taught in a traditional setting like harmony, time signatures, dynamics, and expression, among others.

Students will acquire the foundations for creating computer based music using varied software technologies that will introduce and enhance their understanding of basic digital recording techniques. Students will also gain an understanding of and appreciation for the history and development of recording technology and sound recording.
