 In this course, students learn the dynamics of visual and artistic literacy. Portfolio development, advertising psychology, and design sensitivity are explored. Students will use professional tools and media used by professional artists. Digital applications may include Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling software, and various mobile art and design apps. Design units may include: Promotion, product design, branding, and spatial design. Illustration units may include: Character, environmental, editorial, and object illustration. The emphasis of this course is to foster creativity and self expression, develop original ideas, and construct professional end products in an innovative and challenging environment. Habits of perception, analysis, judgment, and selectivity are pursued throughout the course curriculum.
