Course Details
Course Description
At the end of their elementary education, fifth grade students will be at the same level of the state of Wisconsin based on standards eAchieve’s environmental education is based around. Our science courses will leave students with the knowledge they need to be successful in the next step of their education.
Learning Targets
eAchieve’s fifth grade students will be taught how to identify environmental questions answerable through the resources and equipment they have available. Students will learn how to collect the information they need for these possible investigations through experiments they can conduct in order to find their solutions. It is at this point in their education our students will learn what natural resources are available and, of them, if they are renewable or non-renewable. Students will study the impact beliefs, attitudes, and values can have on environmental issues and how monitoring techniques can give them the data they need to find their solutions. The consequences of environmental decisions will be studied alongside the advantages/disadvantages of short-term/long-term solutions to problems existing in the real world. By the end of the year, our students should be able to assess their own lives and be able to build their own plan to help reduce their negative impact on the environment.
