How to choose online high school courses to prepare for the armed forces
There are a lot of careers available within the five branches of the United States Armed Forces. Military jobs in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps can provide lots of benefits and open up opportunities in the private sector. Since military enrollment can begin as early as 17, high schoolers who want a military career should plan early. eAchieve Academy has online high school classes to prepare Wisconsin students for the future.
Our curriculum has part- or full-time classes in all the core studies needed for a military career: science, world languages, math, English, social studies, and plenty of electives. We ever offer AP classes to earn early college credit you can use towards a four-year degree. By taking eAchieve classes in high school, you can prepare for your military and civilian careers.
Preparing For Your Career
Before enlisting in the military, take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) assessment to see what sort of jobs you’d be suited for. You might be surprised by your results. Taking the test early can help you select which electives to take. eAchieve Academy career-planning resources help our students find the right path for their academic and career goals.
Another option is for students to join a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program. eAchieve students may be able to enroll through their local school district. Other groups include Naval Sea Cadets, Civic Air Patrol, and Young Marines. These three groups usually meet outside of school hours, making them more available to online student membership.
Officers are required to receive additional training. Taking honors & AP classes in high school will show recruiters you’re suited for the path of an officer.
Admissions Process
You can enlist in the military before or after you get into college. Certain branches prefer their officers have a four-year degree before enlisting. eAchieve Academy graduates have been accepted into colleges and universities across the United States.
Additionally, eAchieve Academy has electives and service-learning courses to improve your transcript. High school electives include music, art, cooking, and more. These classes round out your skills.
