Latin 2

Description:

Latin 2 continues the introduction of Latin grammar, focusing on more complex structures like relative pronouns, participles, and the subjunctive. Each chapter includes Latin vocabulary to be learned as well as English derivates to assist with English vocabulary building as well. The readings and compositions become more complex as students’ grammar is expanded. Students also choose a cultural topic to focus on throughout each semester.

Learning Targets:

Reading - Students will understand selected texts on various topics and translate sentences or paragraphs from Latin to English.

Writing - Students will translate selections from English to Latin, showing an understanding of accurate grammatical structures.

Culture - Students will choose a topic each semester to research and present an aspect of that topic each week.
