Description:

This course is a continuation of German 1 and is designed to help improve skills in the German language. Students will increase their skills through listening, speaking, reading and writing activities based on pedagogically proven methods of foreign language instruction.

In the first semester, topics include movies, books, & music, birthdays & holidays, gifts, and everyday life. In the second semester, topics include vacation, healthy living & eating, health and illness. Students learn to express themselves using an ever-increasing vocabulary, present and past tense verbs, articles, adjectives and increasingly complex grammatical structures.

Grammar is introduced and practiced in innovative and interesting ways with a variety of learning styles in mind. Culture is sprinkled throughout the course to help students learn about German culture, people, geographical locations and histories. The course is aligned to the national Foreign Language standards.

Learning Targets:

Listening - Students will understand the main idea and supporting details of spoken language that incorporates familiar vocabulary and structures and respond appropriately.

Reading - Students will understand selected written materials on various topics.

Speaking - Students will apply knowledge of German pronunciation and intonation patterns in various situations.

Writing - Students will respond to statements or questions in German; write compositions and have conversations on selected topics, which incorporate description, detail and accurate grammatical structures.

Culture - Students will explain how aspects of the German-speaking culture differ from their own and discuss the influence of the German-speaking culture in the global community.

As an online public charter school based in Waukesha, eAchieve Academy is open to all Wisconsin K-12 students. There is no tuition fee at eAchieve Academy, nor is there an application or enrollment fee. The only expenses students have are for textbooks and lab materials required for some classes.

Full-time students at eAchieve Academy get a free laptop

All students enrolled full-time are provided with laptop from Milwaukee PC. After successfully completing their first year of studies, the laptop is theirs to keep.  eAchieve Academy also provides a $60 reimbursement for your internet access after every semester successfully completed.

Our teachers are all state-certified and each has nearly 20 years of teaching experience. All our students are assigned an academic advisor for one-on-one support, and personalized Pace Charts help keep students on track toward graduation.

Whether you’re planning to attend a 4-year college after graduation or a trade school, you can count on your transcripts from eAchieve Academy being accepted for admissions. Additionally, all colleges and universities will credit you for any AP classes taken at eAchieve Academy.

eAchieve Academy accepts part-time students

Whether you’re a homeschooled student or enrolled at a conventional high school, you can enroll part-time at eAchieve Academy and take up to 2 classes per semester (space permitting). It’s a great way to round out your education, make up lost credits, take an AP class for college credit, or even complete a high school equivalency diploma
