View All Departments View All IT Classes
Digital Imaging 2
Description:
In Digital Imaging 2, after reviewing the image editing skills learned in Digital Imaging 1, students will learn more about the capabilities of the GIMP program to modify images. Specific skills taught in this course will include more advanced image modification techniques such as using scripts, the GAP animation package, adding light effects, photo separation and retouching, removing color casts and creating web graphics such as logos and buttons. At the end of the course, students will submit a portfolio that demonstrates the skills they have learned and will describe how their image editing skills have changed and improved throughout the course. In order to take this course, students should have successfully completed Digital Imaging, and have a good grasp of the basic GIMP tools, but do not need to have access to a camera to take the course.
Learning Targets:
- Students will understand how to apply basic design concepts (composition, color, lighting, and text) in their images.
- Students will expand their proficiency in using GIMP tools to create, modify or repair images.
- Students will be able to use multiple layers to modify existing images and create their own multi-layered images.
