Worldwide Cuisine


Worldwide Cuisine studies the cultural heritage, local foods, and food preparation techniques that are native to the different regions of the world. As students prepare the cuisine of these regions, they will explore the food customs of its people, local history and geography and sample a multi‐cultural feast from around the world. Experience creative global cooking at its best! Note: This is a cooking class so students will need to purchase groceries throughout the semester for preparing dishes for family.

Learning Targets:

Target 1-I can analyze principles of food safety, sanitation and preservation techniques in order to prevent food borne illness.

Target 2-I can create products using appropriate knowledge of recipes,techniques and culinary practices of global cultures/cuisine.

Target 3-I can analyze the relationship between climate, economics, religion, geography and the food people eat.
