To prepare for a career in psychology, you need prepare by taking the right classes in high school:

AP Psychology course

The best place to start studying psychology is with a Psychology class. eAchieve Academy’s Advanced Placement Psychology is a year-long class with available to students on 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. The class covers many of the basics you will encounter in college psychology courses.

As an AP class, you’ll have the opportunity to take the AP exam for college credit. Universities have different rules about how many credits you can receive based on your score.

Science courses

Since psychology courses overlap with medical courses, it’s important to have a good grasp of biology and chemistry early on.

Introductory Biology is available for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade while Chemistry classes are limited to grades 10-12. Chemistry has one prerequisite, Algebra 1. Both classes are required prerequisites of Anatomy & Physiology. AP Biology and AP Chemistry courses are available for students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.
